There is a buzz (starting to sound like a hive!) going around that working school counselors should become Nationally Certified Counselors (NCCs) by applying for the NCC credential. Here is the way I am understanding this….
The National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) requires passing the National Certified School Counselor Examination (NCSC), which includes 40 multiple choice ?s and 7 simulated cases which presumably assesses a school counselor’s ability to make critical decisions “on the spot.”
